Engineering Drafting

This course introduces students to the principles of drafting used by engineers and technicians through a hands-on learning environment. Topics of instruction include drawing interpretation, visualization, and geometric construction, sectioning developments, mechanical and architectural drawings. Both instrument drawing and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) will be used.

A skill learned within this course that contributed to the success of my Capstone Project was the use of 3D modeling software, specifically SOLIDWORKS. These skills and lessons were used throughout the project and was the foundation of the project

AP Physics C

Students will use a college textbook and supplementary material to cover Newtonian mechanics (including dynamics and angular momentum); work, energy, and power; mechanical waves and sound, electricity and magnetism, and other miscellaneous topics.

A skill learned within this course that contributed to the success of my Capstone Project was the knowledge of motion and energy. This was used to create a suitable structure for the force exerted on the frame as well as the basic knowledge of electrical circuits.

STEM Survey

STEM Survey (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) will introduce students to various theoretical and real life aspects of STEM content. Career overviews, 21st century skills required for success in STEM fields, technical writing, project design and implementation, and capstone project idea development will all be explored. Students will collaborate with mentors from the STEM community to enhance learning.

A skilled learned within this course that contributed to the success of my Capstone Project was the knowledge of the engineering and design cycle. This directly influenced the process and method of designing the drone as well as the plan of attacking such a large project. This knowledge was the largest contributing factor to the success of the project.
